N584UA, Feb 6, 2005. By Ben Wang: Here is a different view of a parallel landing at SFO. An US A321 is over the numbers for 28R while an UA 752 is just beyond the numbers for 28L. An UA 744 (N104UA) is holding short of 28R. Note the hold bars between the two runways just barely fit the 747. To see a ground level view of this same landing, please see photo 779790 by I. Gunawan.
N509UA, Aug 15, 2004. By Ben Wang: With LH 744 D-ABVE. The two planes appear to be touching! The 757 is on final for 28L while the 747 is for 28R. The runways are 750 ft apart, so there is still plenty of room between them. Incidentally, Lufthansa 455 is seen here returning to SFO due to an oil leak and eventual shutdown of the number 2 engine. Note rudder is deflected to the right compensating for the failed engine on the left side.
